At last night’s City Council Meeting, Mayor Pruhs presented Fairbanks Police Officer Kirt Allen with a gold pan for his 23 years of service to the City of Fairbanks. Officer Allen is retiring after a total of 25 years in law enforcement.
Deputy Chief Sweet and Chief Dupee also presented the Honorable Service Medal to Officer Allen for his considerable contributions to FPD, including his 17 years on the SWAT/Tactical Police Team. Deputy Chief Sweet noted that this award is not a longevity award, but rather, one given for exceptional commitment and performance of duty.
Congratulations, Officer Allen! We thank you for doing this dangerous job for so long and helping thousands of Fairbanks residents over those years. Enjoy retirement!
