Very Significant Storm

A very significant storm is anticipated for western Alaska Friday into Sunday.  This system has the potential to bring significant coastal flooding (potentially the highest values in over a decade) and strong winds.  Prepare now for a significant storm!

What to Expect:  The west coast of Alaska will see the strongest storm in over a decade. Significant coastal flooding and very strong winds possible Friday evening into Sunday. Main Concerns: Critical infrastructure may be inundated. Roads (such as the Nome-Council Road) could be washed out. Wind gusts as high as 75 mph could damage power lines.  Prepare now for a significant storm!
