Today is the 10th consecutive day of Red Flag Warnings, surpassing a nine-day run in 2015. In 2015, Alaska had 766 fires for more than 5.1 millions acres burned. These extreme fire weather conditions have persisted over the eastern Interior. High temperatures and low relative humidity have left portions of Alaska dry and extremely vulnerable to ignitions and rapid spread of fires. We expect up to 6,000 lightning strikes today, mainly in the central and eastern Interior. #2022AlaskaFireSeason #AlaskaWildfireNumbers
