U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan of Alaska, alongside Senator Lisa Murkowski and Representative Nick Begich, hosted a press conference focusing on aviation safety in Alaska. The event included U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy and National Transportation Safety Board Chair Jennifer Homendy. This gathering followed a tragic commuter aircraft crash in the Bering Sea near Nome, which resulted in the loss of 10 lives.

Senator Sullivan, who is part of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, emphasized his commitment to improving aviation infrastructure to address Alaska's unique needs. He highlighted that the FAA Reauthorization signed into law in May 2024 contains several provisions he authored specifically for Alaska.
