U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan of Alaska has issued a statement regarding the temporary halt on certain federal funds by the Trump administration. This pause is pending a review to ensure compliance with several executive orders, particularly those concerning foreign aid, illegal immigration, and DEI initiatives.

Sullivan acknowledged that his office has received numerous inquiries from Alaskans worried about the potential impact of this funding pause. He stated, "My team and I are digging into the details of how this pause impacts Alaska and closely monitoring the situation."

The senator emphasized that the scope of the pause is narrower than some media reports have indicated. However, he expressed concern about its possible negative effects on Alaskans. According to Sullivan, "The pause does not affect direct benefits to Americans and Alaskans—including Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, Pell grants, Head Start, veterans’ benefits, rental assistance and similar programs."

Sullivan assured that his office would continue collaborating with affected individuals in Alaska and provide updates as they become available from the Office of Management and Budget. He also encouraged any concerned parties to contact his office for assistance.

For further information or specific concerns regarding grants or funding sources, Alaskans can reach out to Senator Sullivan's office at 202.224.3004.
