U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan from Alaska has issued a statement following the victory of Donald Trump and JD Vance in the 2024 presidential election. This win also marked a shift to a Republican majority in the United States Senate, while results for the House of Representatives are still being finalized.

Senator Sullivan expressed his congratulations to President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect Vance, as well as gratitude to Alaskan voters. He acknowledged his new and returning colleagues in the Senate who contributed to restoring the Republican majority.

Sullivan stated, "This election came down to the simple fact that millions of Americans were better off under a Trump presidency than under the last four years of the Biden-Harris administration." He highlighted what he perceives as beneficial actions by Trump's previous administration for Alaska's economy and autonomy.

The senator criticized actions taken during President Biden's term, citing "67 executive orders and actions targeting our state" which he believes negatively impacted Alaska's economy and land management. Sullivan emphasized his intent to collaborate with Trump's incoming administration to advance Alaskan interests.

Acknowledging the contentious nature of this election cycle, Sullivan remarked on strong emotions across political lines but underscored unity, stating, "While we may disagree at times on what policies are best for our country, we should never forget that we are all Americans."
