Do you  being the first to know things? We know you do. Sign up for 511 text or email notifications and you’ll always be in the know.

You can sign up for notifications for your favorite routes (like your drive to work) or entire areas (like your community). You can customize your notifications to receive texts or emails about poor conditions, crashes, closures, or planned roadwork. You can receive them for certain days or times depending on when you travel or receive one summary notice each day.

Start by going to 511.alaska.gov and creating an account. Then go to My 511 in the top navigation bar and choose Manage Routes & Notifications. The more you know, the smarter you travel. Know more at 511.alaska.gov.

This is the last tip in our #Alaska511 pro tips series. Search the #Alaska511 hashtag to read them all or go explore on 511.alaska.gov. Happy traveling, Alaska!
