Last month, City of Fairbanks Reentry Coordinator, Marsha Oss, attended the American Probation and Parole Association Winter Regional Training Institute in L.A. along with fellow Fairbanks Reentry Coalition Community Co-Chair and Tanana Chiefs Conference Reentry Program Manager, Robert Dorton.
This event provided valuable insight into the exciting and innovative changes being made in the areas of probation and parole throughout the nation. Keynote speakers such as Chef Jeff Henderson, Tony Brown, Richard Cabral, and Jose Arellano contributed motivating presentations on their personal experiences in the justice system; including moments of personal accountability and survival against all odds which exemplified the grace, humility, and resilience of the panel selected for this conference.
Marsha is excited to bring these new insights back to Fairbanks and help further increase awareness and understanding for the issues faced by formerly justice-involved individuals and expand upon the programs available to build a safer community.
