Alaskans can again launch their boats and enjoy the day-use areas at this beautiful spot in urban Fairbanks.
Firewood from the clean-up can be picked up starting at noon - (first come, first served) while the site is open from 7am – 11pm daily. Overnight camping and the dump station are not available this season.
The clean-up and partial reopening came from a partnership between DNR’s Alaska State Parks and Division of Forestry and Fire Protection with the City of Fairbanks, Fairbanks Police Department, Fairbanks Rescue Mission, Great Northwest, Alaska Department of Transportation, and Alaska State Troopers! Thanks for all of the work to return this outdoor recreation gem to the Interior.
DNR Parks Superintendent Ian Thomas, Fairbanks Mayor Jim Matherly, Fairbanks Rescue Mission Executive Director Pete Kelly, and other agency representatives at the Rec Site.
