76 percent of applicants to the University of Alaska Fairbanks were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of Alaska Fairbanks, 55 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 59 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Fairbanks enrolled 7,404 students in fall 2018, including 6,429 in undergraduate and 975 in graduate programs, data shows. 5.8 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

89 percent of undergraduates are residents of Alaska, and 8 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (52 percent) and American Indian or Alaska Native (14 percent).

The school admitted 76 percent of the 1,683 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 58 percent enrolled.
