The Alaska Nanooks women’s cross country team has had two of its athletes recognized for their academic and athletic achievements. Rosie Fordham and Kendall Kramer were named to the 2024–25 Academic All-America Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Rosie Fordham received Second Team Academic All-America honors, marking her second time receiving this recognition. Kendall Kramer made history by becoming the first in the program to be named a First Team Academic All-American.
Kendall Kramer concluded a remarkable senior season in 2024, participating in seven races and achieving significant success. She began with a victory at the Seawolf Throwdown and continued with runner-up positions at various events including the Forest Frenzy, Bill Roe Classic, and Lewis Crossover. Kramer secured her third consecutive GNAC Championship title and was honored as the GNAC Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Year. Her performance at both the NCAA Division II West Region Championships and National Championships resulted in second-place finishes, marking a record national finish for a Nanook.
Kramer maintained a 3.89 GPA while majoring in biological sciences, earning both All-Region and All-American honors. Additionally, she was named a First Team CSC Academic All-American in the Women’s At-Large category recently.
Rosie Fordham, studying chemistry with a 3.76 GPA, achieved Second Team Academic All-America honors for two consecutive years. Throughout her season alongside Kramer, she consistently performed well, never finishing lower than eighth in any race. Notable achievements include winning the NCAA Division II West Region title with her best-ever 6k time of 19:52.7 and placing eighth nationally.
Fordham and Kramer’s accomplishments contributed significantly to representing half of this year’s Great Northwest Athletic Conference’s honorees on the Academic All-America teams alongside Seattle Pacific’s Annika Esvelt (First Team) and Central Washington’s Emy Ntekpere (Second Team).
