The Alaska Nanooks men’s basketball team will play its final home games of 2025 this weekend, hosting the West Coast Baptist Eagles on Friday and Saturday at the Alaska Airlines Gymnasium in Fairbanks. Friday’s game is scheduled for 7 p.m., with Saturday’s tip-off set for 5 p.m.

In their most recent games, the Nanooks split their first two Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchups of the season. They secured an 80-70 win over Western Oregon, led by Mike Miller’s 23 points, and then lost to Saint Martin’s 66-56. Davis Crilly scored 18 points against Saint Martin’s and nearly achieved a double-double with nine rebounds.

Crilly currently leads the Nanooks in scoring, averaging 15.5 points per game, which places him tenth in the GNAC. He also ranks seventh in field goal percentage at 47.9% and third in three-point percentage at 43.2%. Three other players—Tyriq Luke (15.3), Mike Miller (14.9), and Jalai O’Keith (12.1)—are also averaging double-digit points this season.

O’Keith leads the team in rebounding with an average of 7.4 per game, ranking second in the conference. Tariq Weiser averages 4.6 assists per game, which is third-best in the GNAC, while Miller leads the conference with an average of 2.3 steals per game.

The Nanooks have made more three-pointers per game than any other team in the GNAC this season, averaging 10.4 makes from beyond the arc through eight contests. Their average of 18.6 assists per game is also a conference best and ranks twentieth nationally among Division II teams.

The upcoming opponent, West Coast Baptist Eagles, are members of the Southwestern States Intercollegiate Conference within the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). Coached by Joey Vara, they qualified for last season’s SWS Tournament as hosts but were eliminated in the first round by Justice College with a score of 102-53. This weekend marks their first meeting with Alaska.

Following Saturday’s contest, fans can participate in a poster signing event with members of the Nanooks team.

After these home games, Alaska will travel to Hawaii next week to compete in the Hoops in Hawaii Classic hosted by Hawaii Pacific University.
