The Alaska Nanooks have seen four of their student-athletes recognized for their academic and athletic achievements by being named to the 2024-25 CSC Academic All-America At-Large Teams. Among them, Kendall Kramer from the ski team was selected for the First Team, while Rachael Charles from the rifle team and Philipp Moosmayer from the ski team received Second Team honors. Sára Karasová, also from the rifle team, was placed on the Third Team.
Kramer, a senior majoring in biological sciences and psychology with a 3.89 GPA, has made history as only the second female athlete from Nanooks to achieve First Team status. She had an outstanding season in skiing, earning several accolades including First Team All-RMISA honors and a national championship title in freestyle technique.
Rachael Charles contributed significantly to her team’s success on the rifle range this past season. With a 3.88 GPA in biological sciences, she helped lead her team to multiple championships while achieving personal milestones such as being named Most Outstanding Performer at the NCAA Rifle Championships.
Sára Karasová, who is studying security and disaster management with impressive undergraduate and graduate GPAs of 3.99 and 3.94 respectively, achieved her second Academic All-American honor after an exceptional senior year.
On the men’s side, Philipp Moosmayer stood out in skiing with his performances improving throughout the season leading to his first collegiate victory at RMISA Championship/NCAA West Regional. Moosmayer maintains a 3.90 GPA while pursuing digital journalism studies.
These accomplishments highlight not only their dedication on their respective fields but also in their academic pursuits.
